Pictorial Tour - The Bedrooms ...

Bedroom D
(with Adjoining Bedroom C on the Right)
As you step into the Bedroom D you see the
comfortable sofa on your left and a window on the outside wall. The sofa
converts into a comfortable bed with spring mattress at night. Above the sofa
is an upper berth which similarly makes down into a bed. Directly in front of
you is an overhead rack, mirror, a private toilet, and the wash basin which
folds back down to form an extra seat. On the wall to your right is a folding
writing desk. Your room also has a doorbell, fan, 110 volt outlet, and
individual heat controls. Each berth has a porter call and a reading lamp.
The
porter follows you into your spacious room and quickly stores your luggage.
After making sure you are settled in, he points out the porter call then
leaves you alone, king in your own castle.
Each of the rooms aboard the DOVER HARBOR has the same features as your
room and two sets of bedrooms are adjoining. You are surrounded by the
elegance of first-class rail travel just as it was in the 1930's. Even the
shoe locker under your berth is still there. Put your shoes in it and the
porter will shine them by morning.
